Karumah has a number of programs, workshops and social events designed to maximise health and minimise the impact of HIV.
Case management outreach program
Karumah provides a comprehensive case management service for PLHIV in the HNE Region which travels out into the community. Our case manager conducts comprehensive assessments listens to stories identifies barriers and issues and works collaboratively with people to address them. The case manager will advocate, liaise, makes referrals and follows up to assist with better self-management skills. Our approach is long term person centred and evidence based and our goal is to improve the health and well-being of PLHIV, improve treatment uptake, reduce hospital presentations and reduce the strain on other primary services.
Social activities – these are specifically designed in collaboration with PLHIV to meet their social needs, a number of different events are scheduled over the year please see our events link for more information.
Workshops – A variety of workshops run throughout the year. See our newsletter and blog for more info.
